"Done-for-you social media" sounds dreamy. But what actually happens behind the curtain? What do you do, what do we do, and when does it all happen?
Let's pull back the curtain on a typical month with Daybreak, using a made-up West Palm Beach business as our example: a cozy cafe a few blocks off Clematis Street. (Not a real client, just a very real kind of business!)
Week 1: Plan
Every month starts with a plan, not a post. We look at what happened last month: which Reels got saved and shared, which posts brought in DMs, and what customers were asking about. Then we map out the next month around what's happening in the business and around town.
For our cafe, that might mean a new fall drink, a weekend brunch push, and a post tied to a downtown event. (The Downtown West Palm Beach site is a handy place to see what's coming up.)
Your part: a quick heads-up on anything new, like menu changes, promos, hires or events.
Week 1-2: Shoot day
This is the fun part. We come to you with a shot list and a phone gimbal, and spend a focused block of time capturing everything we need: the espresso pour, the pastry case, the barista's laugh, the patio at golden hour, a couple of quick talking clips with the owner.
Shoots happen every month on Growth and Full Service (once a quarter on Starter), and one good shoot can fill weeks of content, because we plan every shot with a post in mind.
Your part: show up, be yourself, and let us move a few chairs.
Week 2: Edit and write
Back at the studio, we pick the best shots, edit Reels, add captions and on-screen text, and write captions that sound like you, not like a robot. Everything is checked against a before-you-post checklist: spelling, hours, links, tags and the first frame of every video.
Week 2: Your approval
You get the full content calendar before anything goes live. Read through it, leave comments, ask for changes. Nothing posts under your name without your OK.
Your part: about 15 to 30 minutes to review and approve.
All month: Posting
Once it's approved, we schedule everything to go out at the times your followers are most active. Stories and timely posts get added along the way, like "patio's open, come say hi!" on a perfect January afternoon.
All month: Comments and DMs
This is the part most people forget, and it's where customers are won. We reply to comments and answer DMs on a set schedule (every weekday on our Growth and Full Service packages), handle the easy questions (hours, parking, "do you have oat milk?") and send real leads, like catering requests, straight to you.
Your part: answer the handful of questions only you can answer.
End of month: The report
You get a simple report that answers three questions: What worked? What didn't? What are we changing next month? No 40-slide decks full of jargon, just the numbers that matter, like reach, saves, shares, profile visits and DMs.
Then we start again, a little smarter each time.
Why West Palm Beach businesses need a little extra planning
West Palm is a city of two audiences. There are the residents who live downtown, work nearby and want a reliable regular spot, and there are the visitors, conference-goers and weekend crowds looking for the best thing to do tonight. A good monthly plan speaks to both: "your new Tuesday ritual" content for locals, and "where to go before the show" content for everyone else.
Downtown also moves fast. Events, street closures, season and holidays can change your foot traffic week to week, so we keep an eye on the calendar and leave room in the plan for timely posts.
What changes over the first few months
Month one is about getting to know your business: your voice, your best-sellers, your customers and what they respond to. By the second and third months, the plan gets sharper because we have real results to learn from. That's why we look so closely at each report. Every month's plan is built on what the last one taught us, so your content keeps getting more "you" and more effective over time.
Common questions
Do I have to be on camera?
Nope, though it helps. Many owners start with behind-the-scenes and product shots, then warm up to quick talking clips once they see how easy it is.
What if I need something posted fast?
Just send it over. Timely posts, like a surprise special or a weather closure, get added to the schedule outside the regular calendar.
Can I still post things myself?
Absolutely. It's your account. We just ask for a heads-up so nothing doubles up.
So how much of your time does it take?
For most owners, an hour or two a month: a quick planning chat, a shoot, and reviewing the calendar. That's the whole point. You get to run your business while your social media runs itself.
