Small Business Marketing Plan Template for Palm Beach County Owners
You don't need a 40-page marketing plan. You need one page you'll actually look at.
Most small business owners I meet aren't short on ideas. They're short on a plan that tells them which ideas to do this month and which ones to skip. This one-page template takes about an hour, and you can redo it every quarter with a fresh iced coffee in hand.
The one-page marketing plan
Seven sections, seven short answers. To make it real, I've filled each one in for an example business: a small fitness studio in Palm Beach Gardens.
Who you're for. Who buys from you, where do they live, and what do they care about? Example: women 30-55 within 15 minutes of PGA Boulevard who want small classes and real coaching.
What makes you different. Why you and not the place down the street? Example: no more than 8 people per class, and coaches know every member by name.
Your goal this quarter. One number you want to move. Example: 25 new trial sign-ups by the end of the quarter.
Where your customers find you. Google, Instagram, word of mouth, events? Example: Google Maps, Instagram and member referrals.
Your monthly marketing moves. 3 to 5 things you'll do every month, no more. Example: one content shoot, 3 Reels a week, ask every new member for a review, one collab with a neighbor business.
Your budget. Monthly time and dollars. Example: 4 hours a week, plus a set monthly amount for help.
How you'll measure it. What you'll check, and when. Example: trial sign-ups, Google reviews and DMs per week, checked on the first of every month.
Section by section
Who you're for
"Everyone" is not a target market. The tighter you describe your customer, the easier every other decision gets, from what to post to where to advertise. Here in Palm Beach County, also think about seasonal versus year-round customers. They often need different messages.
What makes you different
Write it in one sentence a customer would actually say, not marketing speak. "They actually remember my name" beats "exceptional client experience" every time.
Your goal
Pick one. Followers are not a business goal; booked appointments, leads and sales are.
Where they find you
For most local businesses, Google Business Profile and Instagram do the heavy lifting. Start there before you add anything else.
Monthly moves
Consistency beats intensity. Three things done every month will outperform ten things done once. If you're not sure how often you can realistically post, our free Posting Schedule Builder will map out a pace you can keep.
Budget
Count your time, not just your dollars. If marketing takes you eight hours a week, that's a real cost, even if it never shows up on an invoice.
Measure
Pick two or three numbers and look at them on the same day each month. Keep what works, drop what doesn't, and adjust next quarter's plan.
